More Leica Q2
Recently have tried to use the Q2 more and more, although of course for some scenes/subjects my Nikon Z6ii will remain more appropriate - think telephoto lens, etc.
But I had the opportunity of spending an afternoon wandering about on the South Bank (London). Great for street photography and for modern architecture.
And the Leica Q2 really came into its own. Such a joy to use. The “quality”feel is fantastic, the images are great, the weight is (relatively) low, and, although not the smallest premium camera, it is still small enough to not be clumbersome.
I finished the day really pleased, but also with some thoughts as to what I would do differently.
Firstly I must try the 35mm lens framelines. As I understand it as I shoot in RAW I will still get the full 47MP file with the crop framelines overlaid on the full image in Lightroom. I think a jpg (which I never use) would result in a pre-cropped image.
Secondly I need to look again at which metering mode I use. I have been using “highlight weighted” to try and ensure highlight areas were not blown out - but this results in an initial RAW image which appears very under exposed. So I am about to try “centre-weighted” to see if I prefer that approach.
We will see.
